ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA, April 30, 2019… Greenleaf CEO Dr. Siddharth Ashvin Shah, MD. MPH, founder, and CEO of Greenleaf Integrative will be a presenter and panelist at the upcoming National Capital Healthcare Executives Spring Symposium on May 4 in Fairfax, Virginia. Joining other physicians and C-Suite professionals on the panel of presenters, he’ll be sharing his insights and expertise on “Sustainable Strategies to Support Resiliency and Professional Wellbeing for Healthcare Professionals.”
A recent Mayo Clinic study found that over 50 percent of American physicians have at least one sign of burnout. The suicide rate for physicians is higher than that for any other profession, in part because of the stress of medical school, the risk for malpractice, sleep deprivation and challenges with work/life balance. All healthcare staff can experience burnout, depression, post-traumatic disorder, and suicidal ideation. Healthcare leaders often struggle with finding long-term solutions to address this critical issue for their staff and organization.
Dr. Shah will present strategies and approaches that address wellbeing for clinicians and other professionals in today’s healthcare environment. “It is important to connect actual competencies in resiliency to operational tasks. We will discuss Greenleaf’s rigorous methodology that emphasizes leadership and shared responsibility. In this way, we mitigate against cynicism by only letting through solutions that are desirable, feasible and viable.”
